Episode 43

Thanks for listening!

Hi everyone, Gareth here with an important update.

After an amazing run, Podcasting People is coming to an end. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’ve loved sharing insights from some of the best minds in podcasting with you. But as I shift my focus to other creative projects - including my hyper-local show The Sheppertonian and my work in the podcast and music industries - it feels like the right time to close this chapter.

A huge thank you to every guest who shared their wisdom and every listener who kept me going. Your support has meant the world to me, and I hope the episodes we’ve created will continue to be a valuable resource for podcasters for years to come.

Thanks for being part of Podcasting People. It’s been an absolute pleasure.

Gareth:

Hello, everyone. Gareth here.

Podcasting People in October:

can do. So over the course of:

People who genuinely want to help, who want to impart their podcast experiences for the benefit of others. So I feel like it's time to stop adding to that and start celebrating the wonderful creative playground that independent podcasting has become.

So instead of doing that in podcast form, I'll be taking time to share great advice online when I see it.

And by the way, some of the people I find offering great advice in the independent podcast space at the moment are people like Mark Steadman, Danny Brown, and Mark Asquith from Captivate. Steph Fuccio, Liam Heffernan. Liam's just launched Mercury, which is an independent podcast network.

Verity Sangan, Tony Onwuchekwa, Jennay Horn, James Cridland and Sam Sethi of Podnews. The Internet's Arielle Nissenblatt. Just some of the amazingly knowledgeable and open people who you should be aware of if you're an indie podcaster.

I'm going to continue with my hyper-local show The Sheppertonian and to offer my services as composer and audio producer via my company, The Sound Boutique. The link is in the show notes if you want to have a look.

And if you want to follow the progress of that podcast and my other audio adventures, you can find me on LinkedIn and Bluesky with the handle garethsounds. I'll pop those links in the show notes too. So for now, thank you for listening to Podcasting People in all its forms.

It's there for you to revisit and enjoy. I hope you found it useful and continue to do so. Bye for now.
